Description The Toy Schnauzer is a robust, active dog of terrier type, resembling his larger cousin, the Standard Schnauzer, in general appearance, and of an alert, active disposition. The Toy Schnauzer is an alert, spirited, friendly dog who is as much at home in a city apartment as he is in the country.

Description Characteristics The Shih Tzu is a sturdy, lively, alert toy dog with long flowing double coat. Befitting his noble Chinese ancestry as a highly valued, prized companion and palace pet, the Shih Tzu is proud of bearing and has a distinctively arrogant carriage with head well up and tail curved over the back. Although there has always been considerable size variation, the Shih Tzu must be compact and solid, carrying good weight and substance. Owning Families with small children should always supervise the children when they play with the dog; the Shih Tzu is a sturdy dog but his size puts him at a disadvantage. The coat requires at least a half an hour grooming per day, which should be a consideration before bringing a Shih Tzu into your home. The Shih Tzu is a true companion. His happy, outgoing, and affectionate temperament coupled with his friendly and trusting nature make him a great house pet.

Description The Shetland Sheepdog, or "Sheltie" as it is commonly called, is essentially a working Collie in miniature. A rough-coated, longhaired working dog, he is alert, intensely loyal and highly trainable and is known as a devoted, docile dog with a keen sense of intelligence and understanding. Agile and sturdy, the Sheltie is one of the most successful obedience breeds, but also excels in agility, herding and conformation. The coat can be black, blue merle or sable, marked with varying amounts of white and/or tan

Description Silky Terrier (AKC Toy Group) Height: 9 to 10 inches. Size: Small. Weight: averages 7 to 10 pounds. They are moderately long lived(12 to 15 years), and are not always easily available. The coat is long, fine and silky, but because the breed has only a single coat, it doesn't tangle easily and the dog doesn't shed heavily. The coat should not reach the floor so regular grooming is needed(some trimming or stripping, but little skill is required). The hair is parted down the center of the back. Comes in blue with tan markings. It can have many shades of blue body color. Though the Silky Terrier has always been primarily a companion dog, he also can dispatch domestic rodents-whether you ask him to or not. They are generally good with other pets , but some can be a bit dog-aggressive. A hardy little fellow. Travels well. An excellent watchdog, with a deep bark that belies his diminutive size. Smart, easy to train if you are persistent and use positive training methods, the dog's great desire to please can make him an excellent companion and athlete. The dog is widely reputed to be an ace at learning tricks and commands, and to be a loyal and exuberant companion.( I find them to be a very loving pet; loves the lap for hours), And while most Silkys do well with small children, this breed is most comfortable with older children. Very little exercise is needed. They are small, but a pretty good jogging companion. Talents: Watchdog, hunting, agility, tricks.

Description That of a long-haired toy terrier whose blue and tan coat is parted on the face and from the base of the skull to the end of the tail and hangs evenly and quite straight down each side of the body. The body is neat, compact, and well proportioned. The dog's high head carriage and confident manner should give the appearance of vigor and self-importance. Owning Grooming must be done on a regular basis. Although the coat is easy to care for, it is time consuming and necessary in order to keep your dog in healthy condition. The Yorkshire Terrier can easily be injured by small children; if you are considering a Yorkshire Terrier you must be able to supervise the dog around small children. The Yorkshire Terrier is an independent dog, but a devoted companion. Despite his small size he is more than willing to act as a guardian for his master.
